Jonesboro, Arkansas native Chandler Harris took to authorship in his late teens after discovering Lord Byron and the romantic poets. The following is an excerpt from the words he wrote the day he became a writer:
"Go forth in full stride
And accept its blessing
It is a gift!
And if give it again
I would drink sweet nectar
From the source
Leaving just a hint of its divine
For generations not yet conceived
And I would breathe that life
Into the face of every man…
Up until that moment, and ever since, he has lived his life like the free spirit he embodies. At 19 years, he dropped out of Arkansas State University and moved to Los Angeles, California, where he joined "The Simple Something" as a lead vocalist. He selected himself as chief lyricist and melody maker in charge, and so his songwriting journey began. At 22, Chandler returned home to Jonesboro where he learned to play guitar out of a yearning desire to create without limitation. As of 2018, Chandler resides in Austin, Texas and has authored thousands of word works to date. Many of them are in song.
